Shoe size chart by foot length
Your foot length in centimetres is the one number every brand agrees on. Measure it once, then read your size in any system.
Sizes are the smallest on Nike's chart whose foot length covers yours.
Brands vary. These conversions follow Nike's footwear charts (foot length per size). Another label can run half a size (or a whole size) different, so if the store publishes its own chart, trust that first. All sources
How to measure your foot
- Tape a sheet of paper to the floor against a wall.
- Stand on it in the socks you'll wear, heel touching the wall.
- Mark the tip of your longest toe (it isn't always the big toe).
- Measure wall to mark in centimetres. Repeat with the other foot.
- Use the longer foot, and measure late in the day, when feet are at their largest.
Nike notes that the CM size on shoe boxes is not the same as foot length. Use this page's foot-length figure, not the box label, when comparing.
Three rulers, one foot

These are the textbook formulas: UK size = 3 × shoe-last length in inches − 25, EU size = 1.5 × last length in cm, each last being a little longer than the foot for toe room. ISO 9407 (Mondopoint) simply records the foot length in millimetres. Real brands round to their own lasts, which is why the chart above and this formula can differ by half a size.

Questions shoppers ask
How do I measure my foot for shoe size?
Stand on a sheet of paper against a wall, heel touching the wall, and mark the tip of your longest toe. Measure from the wall to the mark in centimetres. Do both feet in the evening, when feet are largest, and use the longer one.
Is the cm on the shoe box my foot length?
Not exactly. Nike notes that the CM size printed on boxes and labels differs from foot length: a US men's 8 carries a 26 cm label but fits a 25.4 cm foot on Nike's chart.
What is Mondopoint?
Mondopoint is the ISO 9407 system that sizes shoes by foot length (and optionally width) in millimetres. A Mondopoint 265 shoe fits a foot 265 mm long. Ski boots and military footwear use it widely.
Should I size up if I am between sizes?
Most brands, adidas included, suggest going up: a little room is more comfortable than toes pressing the front, and thicker sports socks take up about half a size.
What shoe size is 27 cm?
A 27 cm foot is a US men's 10 (EU 44, UK 9) on Nike's chart, or about a US women's 11.5.
